My Approach to Helping
Our human existence is composed of triumphs and loss, success and failure, joy and pain. We don't get to pick the obstacles we face, but we have control over how we face these obstacles and cope with the results. Crossing all cultures and world views, grief and loss are obstacles experienced by everyone. These experiences can often leave us feeling a range of emotions from anger, to depression, to anxiety, and beyond. When we struggle to understand and process these experiences and emotions, problems in other areas of our life can develop.
My career in helping others began in 2008 working with many disenfranchised populations who have dealt with varying levels of trauma, grief, substance use, and severe mental illness. Regardless of their background, I have developed the ability to empathize with my clients and provide a safe, non-judgmental space for them to explore their emotions, address their concerns, and begin the healing process.
Within my practice, I apply a cognitive behavioral approach where the thought process behind actions is the focus. I look forward to helping you on your healing journey.
