My Approach to Helping

My practice is a welcoming and safe space open to folks of any gender, orientation, race, or religion. People who work with me feel they are deeply listened to and understood. My psychotherapy rests in a trustworthy relationship and focuses on nurturing healthful developmental tendencies as well as identifying and resolving problematic patterns. Our primary effort is to help each client achieve his or her personal goals that brought them to therapy, and these most often include needs for a sense of self worth, emotional strength, integrity, meaningfulness and a positive relation to self, others, and the world.

I am also specialized in and trained by Dr. Joanne Cacciatore in the MISS Foundation's Compassionate Bereavement Care for Traumatic Loss. We provide psychotherapy, counseling, support groups, mentoring by certified bereaved parents, and Respite Care on site when necessary.

I see adults, adolescents, pre-teens, families, and couples. I am solution oriented and work to support each client's personal goals in the quest for healing and growth, exploring physical, emotional and mental parts of the personal self, as well as relationships, work, community life, recreation, and spirituality.

LIVING PROCESS COUNSELING CENTER
We are a small group of experienced psychotherapists in private practice providing a welcoming and safe space open to folks of any gender, orientation, race, or religion. People who work with us feel they are deeply listened to and understood. This is the foundation of our work. Each of our staff have been caring, practical and skilled psychotherapists for over 25 years, integrating relational psychoanalysis, Focusing, cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based therapies. We are practical, solution oriented and effective. We take some insurances and adjust our fees to your ability to pay whenever possible.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

Psychotherapy should help us free ourselves from destructive patterns of behavior, distorted thoughts and beliefs, and avoidance or preoccupation with difficult feelings. Psychotherapy should help us understand ourselves more fully, find more control and choice in our lives, and increase our ability to relate well to ourselves and others. Psychotherapy should help us to live more meaningful, engaged present-oriented lives.
