My Approach to Helping
My practice is a welcoming and safe space open to folks of any gender, orientation, race, or religion. People who work with me feel they are deeply listened to and understood. My psychotherapy rests in a trustworthy relationship and focuses on nurturing healthful developmental tendencies as well as identifying and resolving problematic patterns. Our primary effort is to help each client achieve his or her personal goals that brought them to therapy, and these most often include needs for a sense of self worth, emotional strength, integrity, meaningfulness and a positive relation to self, others, and the world.
I am also specialized in and trained by Dr. Joanne Cacciatore in the MISS Foundation's Compassionate Bereavement Care for Traumatic Loss. We provide psychotherapy, counseling, support groups, mentoring by certified bereaved parents, and Respite Care on site when necessary.
I see adults, adolescents, pre-teens, families, and couples. I am solution oriented and work to support each client's personal goals in the quest for healing and growth, exploring physical, emotional and mental parts of the personal self, as well as relationships, work, community life, recreation, and spirituality.
