My Approach to Helping

I practice Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Acceptance Commitment Therapy.

I teach these therapies to doctoral students in Clinical Psychology at American University where I am a Professor.

I approach therapy scientifically, applying the latest findings in CBT to the problems people present to me. I stay up to date with the literature.

I work to keep a gentle, cooperative alliance with all people I meet with.
