My Approach to Helping
The foundation of my practice is built on the belief that every person has a natural capacity and drive to heal. In order for this capacity to emerge, we need a safe environment. Therefore, it is my priority to co-create a safe environment with you as together we explore what previously felt too unknown and overwhelming to do alone.
I use an integrative approach to therapy. I practice from a mindfulness-based, body-centered, emotion-focused, relational perspective. I specialize in AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, a somatic (body-centered), approach. In session, I strive to make sure my clients feel supported, seen, and not alone.
I specialize in working with clients with anxiety, emotion dysregulation, relationship issues, grief, spiritual and or religious trauma, and recovering from abusive relationships. I have experience working as a counselor with families and patients at San Diego Hospice. I have worked with patients nearing the end of life and family members who are processing grief and loss. I have worked at a counseling center in central Los Angeles. I love working with clients as they navigate and embrace their creative journey. Additionally, I have extensive experience counseling families involved with the Department of Child Safety (DCS) and understand some of the many complexities, hardships, and injustice of navigating that system.
